Emerald Farm

A living model of regenerative farming for people and the planet.

Mission Statement

Carolyn and Lee founded MRLD Farm, Inc, aka Emerald Farm, with the intention of stewarding a small part of mother earth. Inspired by mentors Mark Shepard and Richard Perkins to steward through the practice of regenerative agriculture Carolyn and Lee started the journey to acquire the knowledge and experience necessary to follow in their mentors footsteps. In the process their awareness of interconnectivity dawned the notion that regenerative practice could also include the economy and the community.

Thus the Regenerative Earth Project manifested as a path to regenerate the local ecology the local economy and the local sociology in meaningful and transformative ways. Carolyn and Lee are building with the help of others who value agriculture a model local regenerative farm that will demonstrate in real life to all who are curious that this is a meaningful, valuable, and amazing way to live life and raise a family. This model farm through its training programs will help others and guide them on their life journey.

Intention

To nurture clear, conscious living—deeply connected to all elements of nature and all beings—while fostering positive, liberating awareness

Path

Regenerative agriculture, interwoven with the local economy and community, guiding us toward this goal.

Result

A real-life regenerative farm model demonstrating accessibility, inclusion, fiscal stability, soil restoration, and community prosperity through interconnected local businesses.

Regerative Earth Project

The Regenerative Earth Project at Emerald Farm stewards and guards the environmental conditions by cultivating the diversity of all species in its biome, creating a healthy, balanced ecosystem. We support these goals through regenerative and restorative farming practices, growing organic, sustainable, and perennial foods. These practices heal the planet and enrich the broader community by bringing our harvests to local farmers markets. Underpinning this project is a foundational consciousness of abundance—by intentionally growing this farm model from that mindset, it demonstrates a realistic livelihood approach to be shared with all communities, especially underserved ones.

About Us

Lee Christie-Irvine, a farmer and carpenter in Bovina, NY, grew up on a ranch in Wyoming where he learned the value of hard work, care, and responsibility. His experiences in yoga and Tibetan Buddhism deepened his understanding of the interconnectivity of life, inspiring him to create Emerald Farm. Through regenerative agriculture, Lee aims to nurture the land, support carbon sequestration, and strengthen the local Bovina community.

Carolyn Christie-Irvine discovered yoga during a Buddhist retreat in Thailand while serving in the Peace Corps, leading her to study and teach Iyengar Yoga for over 30 years. A Senior Iyengar Yoga instructor in NYC and upstate New York, Carolyn combines her yoga practice with Buddhist study and welcomes students to Emerald Farm’s open-air yoga pavilion for immersive weekends of practice and learning.
